Behind the Scenes: McLean Barbieri

McLean Barbieri | Annali Interiors, Nashville

In Nashville, we love a good family business, so we love how McLean Barbieri is carrying on the legacy of her mother, Lillias Johnston, at local design firm Annali Interiors. McLean cut her teeth at two dynamic design firms in San Francisco before returning to Nashville in 2010 to join Annali’s team. At the beginning of this year, McLean became her mother’s business partner, taking on responsibilities such as revamping the firm's advertising and social media presence, scoping out new talent and carrying the business into the next generation. Annali Interiors is currently made up of six interior designers, each with her own unique style. For a taste of McLean’s style, visit the newly opened Germantown Inn, the neighborhood’s first boutique hotel. She more or less designed the entire hotel, which is located in an historic 1870s home and features six beautiful suites. Or, keep an eye out this month for an article in The New York Times, which will showcase the home McLean helped local artist Vadis Turner design in the building Vadis and her husband bought on Third Avenue.
